Understanding history, present and trends.  Listening to and documenting different viewpoints.  Discussing issues, comparing perspectives, understanding disinformation, denial and looking for truth in oder to find pathways to solutions even where there are vested interests that don't want them.

There is the gathering of information, the organisation and archiving of information, the presentation of information and continuing access to it.
